Solway Water Management (SWM) provided Legionella Awareness Training to ASSC members, which covered the basic Legionella compliance required to be in place for a holiday property and the pit falls of not having a suitable Legionella risk assessment in place.  SWM looked at a typical Legionella risk assessment template.  Please contact your local council / download the template from the Council website – if you wish to attempt to do the risk assessment yourself

The following Freedom of Information Request has been submitted to each local authority in Scotland today:

To whom it may concern, 

I am contacting you in order make a FOI request under The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Please may you provide me with information in respect of the following questions: 

  • Is the council’s short-term let licensing scheme currently open to all types of short-term let accommodation provider?
  • How many short-term let licensing applications have you received in total and then broken down by: (a) home sharing; (b) home letting; and (c) secondary letting?
  • How many short-term let licences have been (a) granted; and (b) rejected?
  • What short-term let licensing fees have been collected so far?

If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary.

Scottish Agritourism Conference 6th-7th December 2022

 

The largest gathering of the agritourism sector in Scotland returns to Perth Concert Hall on the 6th and 7th of December 2022 and whether you are an agritourism business owner, or a farmer or crofter considering agritourism, part of the vital supply chain, or an economic development professional keen to support the sector, this event is for anyone keen to help grow Scottish agritourism to its full potential.

The varied programme contains inspiring stories from agritourism owners alongside hard facts from industry experts and national agencies. Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Islands, Mairi Gougeon, will report on advances in the national strategy for agritourism in Scotland over the previous 12 months and there will be breakout sessions, by both agritourism type and region, featuring case studies and a close look at this years’ agritourism growth tracker figures.There will be a special workshop hosted by Fiona Campbell for accommodation providers.  There will be networking opportunities during break-out sessions and breaks and on Tuesday evening, conference delegates can choose to attend a drinks reception, followed by three course networking dinner at the Royal George Hotel, Perth.
